Kingdom State
Kingdom State
A player-facing snapshot of Cormyr's condition after Session 1
The kingdom-status tracker currently places Cormyr at Law 13, Life 10, and Hope 7. In plain terms: the kingdom still has a functioning structure, but ordinary life is strained and the public mood is beginning to collapse into short-horizon thinking.
Law is still stronger than the rest of the kingdom. Formal authority usually works, but it increasingly needs local backing or real follow-through to stay real. Life is under strain. Hope is low.
Law
Legitimacy 15: Formal office and lawful standing still usually work in ordinary matters.
Coordination 9: Institutions can still cooperate, but not cleanly and not by default.
Justice 14: Formal grievance channels still exist, even if they move slowly or unevenly.
Life
Resources 6: Freight and supply are politically decisive.
Safety 11: People still move and work, but no longer assume roads and borders will hold.
Recovery 13: Repair is still possible, though strain remains close at hand.
Hope
Morale 7: Resignation is becoming emotionally normal.
Solidarity 9: Mutual aid still exists, but narrows toward smaller circles.
Future 6: Stopgaps and short-horizon thinking increasingly replace durable rebuilding.
What This Means At The Table
The roads matter because resources are fragile. Contradictory paperwork matters because law still counts. People’s exhaustion matters because hope is thinning.
The campaign opens at the point where all three pressures overlap.
